~BOOK ☤ Faith ♫ It was divinely providential, acknowledged most mamas of the ton, how time could change a man A mere younger son the year before, a notorious prankster and womanizer, Gareth Lloyd was now the dignified Marquess of Roth And the sudden possession of such a large fortune made him the catch of the SeasonHe was also everything Miss Faith Ackerly despised To her, a rake and a libertine could no become a pillar of society than a leopard could change its spots For a maid as prim as she was pretty, Gareth s wealth was no an inducement to wed than his title Yet those warm brown eyes did not show the soul of a scoundrel They promised to protect and cherish, to fend off any foe though they indeed tempted her with the pleasures of the bedroom No, no act of God could make her desire Gareth But a leap of faith could lead to true love ahh bu k zca z ne ok kti ya..bir kitapta bu kadar yanl anla lma olmaz ki..neyse buunuda sevdim ben D This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here Much like Grace, I really liked this book It was right up my alley The only thing that kept me from giving it the same rating is how fed up I was with Faith by the end How hard is it to talk to your husband I noticed I seem to have this problem I hate when 21st century ideas are imposed on 19th century characters as with Grace but when 19th century characters are authentic to the time period as with Faith I get fed up.That being said TALK TO YOUR HUSBAND FAITH You could have saved Much like Grace, I really liked this book It was right up my alley The only thing that kept me from giving it the same rating is how fed up I was with Faith by the end How hard is it to talk to your husband I noticed I seem to have this problem I hate when 21st century ideas are imposed on 19th century characters as with Grace but when 19th century characters are authentic to the time period as with Faith I get fed up.That being said TALK TO YOUR HUSBAND FAITH You could have saved 100 pages of distress I d much rather read about how amazing Gareth is, rather than how you don t know why he s angry which you do, you just don t want to admit it Also, I wasaware of the impending twist this time, which is not surprising since I read this back to back with the other Nothing wrong with the writing My complaints are solely towards the plot I hate a romance novel that has as a main plot the couple s misunderstanding each other If you hate it too, give this one a pass. Most enjoyableI recommend this book to anyone that likes a good romance The characters are delightful and the romance is only out done by the growing love for this family. Quick easy read, but not my favorite by this author. Well, this went fast from an exquisite and promising beginning, for about 30% of the book, before it spiraled down, faster and faster, into a complete toilet flush Yeah, I know a lot of historical solved with two lines of dialogue but instead are dragged down the entire length of the book until its HEA conclusion Judith McNaught is the queen of such romances and though I have my issues with her, her delightful writingthan makes up for the tired and frustrating plot devices. Here, in the beginning, I really thought I was getting a Judith McNaught type of HR Right away, I could tell this was going to be light on history, heavy on the romance, with the type of lighthearted banter and sexual tension that make these novels so enjoyable The characters were like contemporary people speaking and feeling contemporary dialogue and emotions who had been parachuted into a thinly constructed historical setting in order to slap the label of HR on it Not really a problem for me if the story is well written The prologue was engaging We met the heroine, Faith, as a child of 5, going through a traumatic incident that would color her perception of sex as she became older The following chapter fast forwards to Faith s 18th year, where she has become an incomparable debutante, lauded for her beauty and regal nature but somewhat criticized for being an ice princess We also meet the hero, Gareth Lloyd, the quintessential rake with a heart of gold that is par for the course in these types of romances Nothing earth shattering but it was a delight to read so far I realized there was some history between these two, and that this book is part of a series that centers around several siblings, however I did not feel that there were too many references that would make this an awkward stand alone read. There were some delightful moments in their courtship I slapped you becausebecause She stopped, unable to come up with a reason that soundedplausible than the truth If you haven t a reason, he said softly, then perhaps I should give you one And his mouth claimed hers with a swift urgency that caught Faith completely off guard I was just thinking, she responded a bit shyly, that if your intention was to punish me with that kiss, I only got half of what I deserved Gareth caught his breath as the merriment faded from her face and she took a step forward to look up at him, her eyes glowing with unabashed tenderness You see, my lord, she explained in an aching voice, I actually slapped you twice The first WTF moment occurs around 30% when through a series of contrived circumstances, Faith and Gareth are forcibly engaged in a marriage of convenience Followed by too many Great Big Terrible Misunderstandings, one after the other at a dizzying speed Faith and Gareth, who were enjoyable, humorous, and sexy characters both become so TSTL that they just became caricatures of characters My breaking point came when view spoiler Gareth finally makes love to his wife after a zillion years but not because they have finally gotten their act together, but because he is convinced she has cheated on him and wants to prove that she is not a virgin He then goes off to get drunk when he is proven wrong, making it convenient for the psycho ex of the story to kidnap Faith, who by the way lets the psycho ex assume she has been raped by her husband hide spoiler If you have read the spoiler, do you need a Tylenol extra strength Because I surely do Which is why this was a DNF for me Sayfa6 Yay nlar ndan kan K zkarde ler Serisinin 1.Grace Kalbim Evine D nd 2.Faith Iss
