I downloaded this book for free, and I enjoyed it so much, that I decided it would be churlish not to write a few words I genuinely could not put this book down once I started it, which for me is very unusual for novels of this genre I would gladly have paid for this book, it is very well written and I know that I will read it again and again As another reviewer onsaid, a lot of sequels to Pride and Prejudice are very mushy, this one is not, in the same way that the original is not A I downloaded this book for free, and I enjoyed it so much, that I decided it would be churlish not to write a few words I genuinely could not put this book down once I started it, which for me is very unusual for novels of this genre I would gladly have paid for this book, it is very well written and I know that I will read it again and again As another reviewer onsaid, a lot of sequels to Pride and Prejudice are very mushy, this one is not, in the same way that the original is not All of the main characters of Pride and Prejudice feature in this book, and I must say that the author does a very good job of keeping them true to the original while moving their stories on.She also fills in a lot of back details, which in less skilled hands might have been presumptuous and insulting to the original, but actually works very well here I kept finding myself nodding and saying things like, so that s how Wickham knew Mrs Young, that s why Darcy was so darned proud, etc etc Although there are a lot of sub plots and a few new characters, the story essentially follows Darcy and Elizabeth s marriage down through the years Ms Turner is a talented writer with a subtle, sly wit, and I found myself chuckling several times throughout the story If you enjoy sequels to Pride and Prejudice, you will love Fidelity and Affection Excellent This is my first and probably will be the only Pride Prejudice sequel I read I thought a life with Mr Darcy would be exactly like in this book so romantic 19th century like Also, this book fits perfectly after P Ps, keeps the characters true as if written by Jane Austen A very happy light reading the only boring part is with Mr Collins alone This is my first and probably will be the only Pride Prejudice sequel I read I thought a life with Mr Darcy would be exactly like in this book so romantic 19th century like Also, this book fits perfectly after PPs, keeps the characters true as if written by Jane Austen A very happy light reading the only boring part is with Mr Collins alone When I first saw that this book was a sequel to the novel Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen , I didn t think I would like it all that much As a major Jane Austen fan , I am very critical of sequels to any of her books I admit , that once I started to read it , I found it very difficult to stop It is just how I can imagine what would have happened after Elizabeth s and Darcy s wedding at the end of Pride and Prejudice The characters in the novel are kept true to how they were i When I first saw that this book was a sequel to the novel Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen , I didn t think I would like it all that much As a major Jane Austen fan , I am very critical of sequels to any of her books I admit , that once I started to read it , I found it very difficult to stop It is just how I can imagine what would have happened after Elizabeth s and Darcy s wedding at the end of Pride and Prejudice The characters in the novel are kept true to how they were in the original an the plot lines were really interesting.I especially enjoyed Wickham s and Lydia s storyline I found it very smartly done and I really liked what happened to Wickham in it The writing style and narrative of the story is very true to Jane Austen I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good read I don t normally post reviews because I m lazy but recently I just finished Pride and Prejudice and I just loved it This is a little gem of a book , the language for that time period is spot on, she writes like Jane Austen can I say that it s very well written and so easy to read along with a good plot This book is well worth the read and I would like to think that other readers and fans of Jane Austen feel the same way. Excellent sequelA long detailed story of what happened after the weddings of Elizabeth and Jane Good plot points and well written. This was a pleasant but not memorable Pride and Prejudice sequel Of all the themesin JAFF, I think the marriage of Lizzie andDarcy is the most difficult to get right perhaps because we all have our own ideaswhat it would be. |Download Book ♵ Fidelity & Affection: A Pride & Prejudice Sequel ☱ Elizabeth and Darcy are married, and if any literary pairing ever promised a union of peculiar, passionate devotion, it must surely be theirs Their conjugal felicity encourages Georgiana to overcome her shyness sufficiently for her to fall in love with a handsome, amiable young gentleman, but a scandal from his past threatens to tear their burgeoning relationship asunder Kitty too discovers what it is to love, but sadly a lack of fortune may forestall her happy ever after As for Lydia and Wickham, while their ill starred union never seemed likely to develop into a faithful, harmonious marriage, his latest betrayal goes far beyond mere infidelity, and this time his loathsome behaviour may just lead to his own destruction Once Darcy and Elizabeth have settled comfortably into domestic bliss, can their ardour for each other, once so all consuming, really survive all of the vexations that even a loving marriage inevitably brings And just who is this beautiful young lady that Darcy has become secretly involved with, surely her arts and allurements will not succeed in drawing him in This is a sequel to P P beginning immediately following the weddings of Bingley and Darcy It is fairly clean, mostly angst free It is also tedious Much of the part that I read was simply a long winded rehash of sections of P P Darcy rehashes his entire life only omitting conception At one point my Kindle burped and I lost my place, trying to guess I assumed I had to be at least 1 2 way through the book when I discovered I was only 1 3rd I was crushed. The only thing I really liked was t This is a sequel to PP beginning immediately following the weddings of Bingley and Darcy It is fairly clean, mostly angst free It is also tedious Much of the part that I read was simply a long winded rehash of sections of P P Darcy rehashes his entire life only omitting conception At one point my Kindle burped and I lost my place, trying to guess I assumed I had to be at least 1 2 way through the book when I discovered I was only 1 3rd I was crushed. The only thing I really liked was that Lizzy calls him Darcy It was cute Shorten this book by about a third and it will be muchenjoyable. This writer seems to have an excessive affinity for the word exceedingly, as it appears on just about every other page for most of the book There is an egregious amount of repetitive thought process description, especially with a chapter dedicated solely to Mr Collins ruminations on how he has been misjudged throughout his life It put me in mind of two BBs bouncing around in a 55 gallon drum.
